KIDS Coach Job Opening

A Kindergarten Instructional Coach will organize professional learning and coaching

around equitable learning environments, developmentally appropriate practices, and KIDS data.

This position will collaborate with the KIDS Coaching and Professional Development

Coordinator along with other colleagues. As a Kindergarten Instructional Coach, candidate will

work with district classroom teachers and administrators to support student learning in all

content areas. The Kindergarten Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group

professional development to support identified professional learning needs and refine

instruction. Extensive travel to school districts across designated regions will be required.

 

Responsibilities:

● Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators;

● Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers;

● Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in

increased student performance and improved classroom environment.

● Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data and

equitable learning environments and practices

● Provide on-site support & coaching to teachers and administrators on a monthly basis;

● Travel to districts, meetings and trainings across the state - Required;

● Collect data and provide documentation related to coaching to the KIDS Coordinator, as

directed;

● Participate in required training and other activities, as directed;

● Maintain a positive work environment and assist coaching team in collaboration;

● Attend monthly meetings is required

● Analyze district and state data to determine support needs

● Remain up-to-date on current researched-based instructional strategies that engage all

students

 

Qualifications:

● Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field; preferred

● Bilingual Preferred

● Experience working with diverse population across the State

● Early Childhood/Kindergarten Teaching license or equivalent; required

● Expertise with observational formative assessment required;

● Experience with KIDS instrument preferred;

● Kindergarten classroom teaching experience required, 3 or more years preferred;

● Experience providing professional development required;

● Experience coaching early childhood professionals and/or providing professional

development on early childhood observation and use of data for planning preferred;

● Experience working in public school systems in PreK-3rd grade classroom or state

funded preschool programs in a non-public entity required;

● Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;

● Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities;

● Ability to be proactive in helping develop and structure new, effective processes;

● Ability to work well independently and under direction;

● Skill in the use of computer and information technology to provide professional

development;

● Strong command of oral and written language;

● Experience with Google platform
