Fine Arts Integration
Reading and Writing-Participants will explore various curriculum integration concepts with emphasis on integrating reading and writing concepts into art lessons. They will also examine and receive a copy of the publication Integrated Curriculum Arts Project a collection of activities written by Illinois educators in which K-12 dance, drama, music, and visual arts instruction are integrated with other disciplines. Attendees will have an opportunity to create integrated activities with other educators and will receive copies of the activities developed during the workshop. | Managing
Mood and Behavior Disorders (AAC #597) The Administrators Academy will
provide participants with tools and research to understand and manage mood
disorders ranging from anxiety, depression, and bi-polar to Attention Deficient
Disorder (ADD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Autism Spectrum Disorders in school. The
workshop includes characteristics of common mood and behavior disorders,
an overview of medical treatments for identified disorders and strategies
for managing these disorders. Participants will write journal reflections
as part of this workshop. Participants will develop a plan for
dissemination and implementation of the Academy information in their

| Bullying Prevention Basics - This workshop will provide participants with a basic overview of bullying and relational aggression, definitions, statistics, myths, gender differences, risk and protective factors, effective interventions, and essential components of an effective bullying prevention program. | Developing
Leadership Principles Through the Study of Great Leaders (AA#224) (Book to be Read- The Soul of Battle)
8:30-3:30, This course will help participants understand the
components of effective leadership, analyze the principles used by
recognized leaders, and assist with the preparation of a personal
leadership plan to provide organizational change when it is appropriate.
This course requires advance reading of a book on leadership in order to
allow participants to discuss the content of the book and the leadership
qualities of the historical figures included in the book. The book will be
delivered to participants upon receipt of payment for the workshop.
