Children of Veterans Scholarship Recipients

Helen Tolan, Sangamon County Regional Superintendent of Schools announces that the following Sangamon County individuals have been chosen as the 2009-2010 recipients of the Children of Veterans Scholarships:

Susan Bonansinga - World War II

Shannon Hoover - Vietnam Conflict

Meghan Lindstrom, Rochester High School - Operation Enduring Freedom

Abby Vorreyer, Glenwood High School - Operation Iraqi Freedom

Alexandra Williams, Southeast High School - Southwest Asia Conflict

Superintendent Tolan said, "The Children of Veteran's scholarship is awarded to students whose parent(s) served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam Conflict, the Southwest Asia Conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom." According to Ms. Tolan, the scholarship is a four-year tuition waiver at the University of Illinois and may be used at any of the University's campuses: Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, Medical Sciences Center or Springfield.

Applications for the 2010-2011 academic year will be available after December 1, 2009 at www.osfa.uiuc.edu, or phone 217-333-0100.
